On 9/11/2016 at approximately 2245 hours Deputies were responding to assist Byron Police Department with a disturbance. Deputies also learned that an offending motorcycle had just fled from the Byron Police Department. Upon checking the area, a motorcycle fled from a Deputy which was pursued in the 7,000 block of N. Conger Road. The Deputy attempted to perform a traffic stop on the motorcycle on several back roads before the driver lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down in the 3,000 block of W. Lightsville Road. The driver, Ernest Elswick age 49 of Oregon was taken into custody for Aggravated Fleeing to Elude (class 4 felony) and Driving While License Revoked (Class 4 Felony). Elswick was also issued citations for speeding, improper lane usage, failure to signal, disobeying a stop sign, improper display of plates, no valid registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Elswick was transported to the Ogle County Jail pending a court appearance.
