On 09/19/16 at 0003 hours Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a report of reckless driving that had occurred in the 10,000 block of E. Route 72. Deputies were advised that a person had called in and reported that they were being chased and harassed by another car and that one of the occupants of that car had thrown an object at the victim’s car, causing damage to the car. As Deputies were responding to the area it was learned that the offending vehicle had been parked in the Meridian Manor Trailer Park and the occupants were advised running away from the vehicle and into a wooded area to the east of the park.
After a search of the area Deputies located the driver of the offending vehicle, who was a 17 year old male juvenile from Stillman Valley and a passenger of that vehicle, a 15 year old male from Davis Junction walking in the area. The 17 year old male was charged with Reckless Driving and Illegal Consumption of Alcohol as a Minor. The 15 year old male was arrested for a curfew violation. They were both transported to the Ogle County Jail and were later released to their parents. With the assistance of the Byron Police Department, Deputies also located the passenger who had thrown the object at the other vehicle. This passenger, identified as Kyle A. Duran, age 18 of Davis Junction, was arrested for Criminal Damage to Property and was also cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was taken to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
