On 12/26/2016 at approximately 6:38 AM, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies were advised of a stolen vehicle which had just occurred in Oregon. While checking the area, Deputies located the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Union and Merchant Streets in Byron. The vehicle then fled from Deputies and after a short pursuit, the vehicle crashed at the intersection of German Church Road and Walden Road. After a short foot pursuit the driver, Allen Clement, age 37 of Oregon was placed under arrest. Clement was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle (class 2 felony), Aggravated Fleeing to Elude a Police Officer (class 4 felony), Driving While License Revoked (class 4 felony), and two Ogle County warrants (Aggravated Domestic Battery warrant and a FTA warrant for Possession of Liquor as a Minor). Clement was also issued citations for Speeding, Failure to Signal when Required, and Disobeying Stop Signs. Clement was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he is being held pending a court appearance.
