Frequently Asked Questions of the Circuit Clerk.

Q:  Can the Circuit Clerk’s office provide me legal advice?

A:  No, the Circuit Clerk’s office is prohibited by law to give legal advice.

Q:  Do you accept personal checks?

A:  No, our office only accepts cash, cashier’s checks, or money orders.  There is an ATM in the Judicial Center

for your use.

Q:  Where may I find birth/death/marriage certificates?

A:   Birth, death, and marriage certificates are maintained by the County Clerk, not the Circuit Clerk.

The County Clerk is located at 105 S. 5th Street – Suite 104, Oregon, IL.  Their telephone number is 815-732-1110.

Q:  May I access Ogle County court records or the electronic docket online?

A:  The Circuit Clerk has a searchable database of most Ogle County cases.  To search go to www.judici.com

Additionally, our Resource Room is available in the Circuit Clerk’s office to view information on court cases.

Q:  I have received a traffic citation.  How do I resolve my ticket?

A:  If you have received a traffic citation, and the officer has marked the ticket Court Required, you will need to appear in Court at

the designated time given to speak with the Prosecuting Attorney regarding your ticket(s).

If you have received a traffic citation, and the officer has marked the ticket No Court Required,

you have the following options available:

1. You may plead guilty and pay the fine:

a.  Online at www.oglecircuitclerk.org

b.  In person at the Ogle County Judicial Center

c.  Or by mailing a cashier’s check or money order along with the signed blue copy of your ticket to:

2.  You may plead guilty and if you are eligible, you may sign up for Traffic School:

a.  Online at www.oglecircuitclerk.org

b.  In person at the Ogle County Judicial Center

c.  Or by mailing a cashier’s check or money order along with the signed blue copy of your ticket to:

3.  You may also plead not guilty to your citation by signing the back of the blue copy and returning it to the

Circuit Clerk’s Office Suite 200 in person or by mail and a court date will be assigned to you.

Q:  Does the Ogle County Circuit Clerk’s office issue passports?

A:  No, you can inquire with your local library for passport information.
