On August 4, 2015 at 2200 hours the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office with a pursuit of an armed robbery suspect vehicle. The suspected armed robberies occurred in Savanna, IL and Clinton, IA. shortly before the pursuit took place. The pursuit traveled east on IL Rt. 64 and south on IL Rt. 52. At IL Rt. 52 and IL Rt. 26 Ogle County Deputies handled a non-injury accident involving Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Lanark Police squads. The pursuit then traveled north on IL Rt. 26 to IL Rt. 64 continuing east into the City of Oregon. The pursuit ended at IL Rt. 64 and Daysville Rd. after stop sticks were deployed and the suspect vehicle collided with a Milledgeville Police squad. A foot chase ensued and taken into custody was Aaron C. Watson 25 of Rockford and a 15 year old juvenile of Rockford. The two suspects were taken into custody by the Ogle County K-9 unit. The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office subsequently handled the accident investigation involving the suspect vehicle and the Milledgeville squad. Aaron Watson was charged with Aggravated Fleeing to Elude, Resisting Arrest, and Driving while license suspended. Watson was also wanted on two Rockford warrants. Watson is being held at the Ogle County Jail. The 15 year old juvenile is currently being held in custody for resisting arrest and pending charges for his involvement for armed robbery and felony theft. The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office is working in conjunction with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Savanna Police Department, Clinton, IA Police Department, along with Freeport Police Department for their suspected involvement with a felony theft which occurred earlier in the day. Other police agencies who assisted with the pursuit were the City of Oregon Police Department, Mount Morris Police Department as well as the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
