One Vehicle Accident

On 05/25/2016, the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department and Oregon Ambulance responded to a one vehicle roll over accident in the 2,000 block of West Pines Road.  The driver, Trevor A. Brandner(23/Oregon) was traveling east on Pines Road when he traveled across the west bound lane.  Brandner then entered the ditch and struck a culvert. Brandners vehicle then overturned before coming to a rest.  As a result of the accident Brandner was transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital for his injuries.  Brandner was later arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Warrant Arrest

On 5-25-16, Ogle Count Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kyle A. Slater, 25 of Seward, on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Petition to Revoke. Slater was unable to post $100,000 (10%) for bond and will appear in court on 5-26-16 at 1:00pm.

No Valid Driver’s License

On 5/25/2016, at approximately 2121 hours, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies were checking a vehicle while in the 4,000 block of W. IL Rte. 72. After investigation, Deputies placed a 17 year old female juvenile under arrest for No Valid Driver’s License. The juvenile was transported to the front of the Jail where she was released to a parent.

Driving Under Influence of Alcohol

On 05/24/16 at approximately 2230 hours Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 7000 block of South Illinois Route 26. After further investigation Kimberly Dyson, age 45 of Dixon was placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Dyson was also issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage. Dyson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she will be held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

On 05/24/16 the following individuals were arrested on Outstanding Ogle County Warrants:

  • Caleb Rainwater, age 29, of Monroe Center for Failure to Appear. Rainwater didn’t post $1,764 full cash for bond and will appear in court on 05/25/16 at 1 pm.
  • Jonathan Fissell, age 28, of Shannon for a Domestic Battery Warrant. Fissell did not post $5,000 (10%) for bond and will appear in court on 05/27/16 at 9 am.
  • Roy Ulmer, 51 of Freeport, for Driving with No Valid Drivers License and Fleeing To Elude a Police Officer. Ulmer did not post $5,000 (10%) for bond and will appear in court on 05/27/16 at 1 pm.

Petition to Revoke

Madeline Martin, age 21, of Rochelle was arrested on an Outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Petition to Revoke. Martin did not post $50,000 (10%) for bond and will appear in court on 05/24/16 at 1 pm.

Domestic Battery

On 05/23/16 at 6:09 am Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Byron Fire Department responded to a domestic disturbance at a rural Byron residence. A female resident was transported to the hospital for injuries. Deputies arrested William G. Brown, of Byron for Domestic Battery. He is being held in the Ogle County Jail pending a court appearance.

Domestic Battery

On 05/23/16 Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Lizandro Capellan, age 34, of Byron for Domestic Battery and Interfering with the reporting of Domestic Battery. The arrest stemmed from an incident which occurred in the 10,000 block of N Kennedy Hill Road. Capellan was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Driving While License Suspended

On May 23, at 1138 hours Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a red Ford F-150 truck in the 1000 block of N. Freeport Road, Ogle County for an Equipment Violation. After further investigation the driver of the truck Jonathan M. Woods, age 39, of Rock Falls was arrested for Driving While License Suspended, and an Outstanding Warrant for Failure to Appear on a Driving While License Suspended out of Whiteside County. Woods was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

2016 Illinois Sheriff’s Association Scholarship Award

Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle recently announced Jordan Cone, a senior at Byron High School, as the 2016 Ogle County winner of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association Scholarship award.
