On 06/26/16 at approximately 8:45 pm, Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a white Honda Accord in the 4,000 block of N. Illinois Route 2. As a result of that stop and a positive alert from the Ogle County K-9, Kelsey A. Thorp, age 25 of Oregon, was arrested for Possession of Cannabis, Violation of the Dug Paraphernalia Act, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Speeding. Thorp was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she is being held in lieu of bond.
On 06/26/16 at 0100 hours the Ogle county Sheriffs dept investigated a Domestic dispute that started on I39 and ended at the intersection of I39 and Rt 72. After investsigation, Dominic Mireles, age 33, of Belvidere was later arrested for Driving Suspended, Criminal Trespass to Vehicle, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, and Domestic Battery. He was transported to the ogle county jail in lieu of bond.
On 06/26/16 at 0230 am, the Ogle County Sheriffs Office conducted a traffic stop on I39 near the 108.5 mile marker. The stop was for Improper Lane Usage (driving in left lane). The driver, Damara P Barmore, age 28 of Rockford was taken into custody for a warrant out of Winnebago County for Resisting a Peace officer and also charged with Driving Suspended in Ogle County. She was taken to the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.
On 06/26/16 at approximately 2225 hours Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 3000 block of West Lightsville Road. After further investigation Tobias Whetsel, age 34 of Leaf River was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis. Whetsel was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
On June 25, 2016 at 1011 hours Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a gold Chevrolet Blazer in the 12,000 block of North Leaf River Road for Improper Lane Usage. After a further investigation the driver of the vehicle, Keri A. Minor age 41 of Leaf River was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Minor was transported tot the Ogle County Jail where she posted bond and was given a July court date.
On 06/25/16 at 7:15 am Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped Gregory Tate, age 44, of Rochelle for a traffic violation on Route 64 near Chana. Tate was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and will appear in Ogle County Circuit Court.
On 06/24/16 at 2040 hrs. Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to River Road approximately 3 miles north of Oregon for the report of boat accident in the Rock River. River Rescue units from the Oregon and Byron Fire Departments responded to the scene as there were reports of injured persons in the water as a result of the accident. The Air-One Emergency Response Coalition helicopter was also dispatched to the area. Upon arrival of emergency units, all persons were located and tended to by Ambulances from Oregon and Stillman Valley. Initial investigation showed that a pontoon boat and a fishing boat had collided in the Rock River. Occupants of the pontoon boat were: David Daily, 52, of Leaf River; Phillip Lukes, 52, of Chicago; Sherry Bushre, 59, of Chicago; and Megan M. Wells, 32, Rockford, who was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Oregon Ambulance for treatment of serious injuries. Occupants of the fishing boat were: Marc Mongan, 46, of Oregon and Nicholas Lamb, 29, Oregon who was transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital by Stillman Valley Ambulance for treatment of serious injuries. Upon arrival at Swedish American Hospital, Megan Wells was pronounced deceased by the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office. The accident investigation was turned over to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police; and is still ongoing.
On 06/24/16 the following individuals were arrested on Outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
- Kyle Slater, age 25 of Steward for Petition to Revoke. Slater did not post $10,000 (10%) for bond and will appear in court 06/27/16 at 1 pm.
- Michael Ward, age 57 of Madison for Driving While License Suspended. Ward did post $3,000 (10%) for bond and will appear in court 06/27/16 at 1 pm.
- Amy Hunter, age 38 of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Hunter did post $484 full cash for bond and will not appear in court at a later date.
On 6-24-16, at approximately 4:00 pm, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of South Illinois Route 26. As a result of the stop, Kassandra A. Prince, 23 of Dixon, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Prince was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.
On 06-23-16 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
Abigail Stram, age 27 of Rockford for Driving Under the Influence. Bond of $7,500 10% was not posted. Stram will appear in court on 06-24-16 at 1:00 pm.
Phillip Weaver, age 33 of Chicago for Failure to Appear. Weaver did not post the $798 Full Cash Bond and will appear in court on 06-24-16 at 1:00 pm.
