POSITON SUMMARY:
Full time office position. Must have common knowledge of basic computer skills. Performs clerical and general office duties, customer service and other duties as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining records on established system.
Performs various clerical duties.
Answering Phone and waiting on counter.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of various office equipment including copier, facsimile and scanning devices.
Microsoft Office software, Outlook, Word & Excel
Verbal and/or written communications
Knowledge of tax cycle and able to learn legal descriptions and understanding some legal documents

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Two years of office experience with clerical and public contact
Experience and knowledge of the Property Tax Cycle
Salary to be determined based on experience. 
Position includes full benefits and retirement in IMRF.

Overview:
Due to the pending retirement of the current CCAO, Ogle County is seeking applicants for the full-time, professional position of Supervisor of Assessments.  This challenging and rewarding position seeks a person with good communication, organizational, and technical skills.

State Requirements:

Applicants must meet the Illinois statutory requirements of 35 ILCS 200/3-5, including the successful completion of the “Supervisor of Assessments Examination” conducted by the Illinois Department of Revenue.  Existing Supervisor of Assessments need only provide a current “Certificate of Qualification” from IDOR.

Local Requirements and Preferences:

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Applicants should be familiar with policies and procedures of the Illinois Department of Revenue. Applicants should also have experience supervising staff, and advancing technology. High importance will be given to candidates with ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including property owners, real estate professionals, attorneys, levy body leaders, and elected officials.Ogle County has over 31,000 parcels of real estate representing a $1.85 Billion Assessed Value.
